Located on the banks of the Sava River, near Belgrade, the house was born from the owner`s desire to have a place dedicated to rest and closer connection with nature. In response, a demountable seasonal house was designed, whose openness and adaptability follow the rhythms of the surrounding landscape.

The main architectural challenge of the CADO studio was the house`s relationship to the wind coming from the river. During spring and summer, pleasant breezes are used as a natural source of ventilation and cooling. Rather than resist these changing conditions, the house embraces them, allowing the climate to shape its orientation, construction and material expression.

The slender steel structure carries a light textile sheath made of canvas panels, curtains and ropes. Carefully placed openings between the roof and wall planes allow continuous cross ventilation, thanks to which fresh air from the Sava flows through the interior. This kind of passive climate solution neutralizes the need for additional cooling, while ensuring comfort during the warmer, summer part of the year.

The textile cover has been designed to respond to seasonal changes. In periods of stronger wind and rain, the steel frame provides the necessary structural stability, while preserving the lightness of the overall architectural concept. The semi-demountable nature of the house allows the canvas panels to be removed and stored during the winter, thus extending their life and further emphasizing the seasonal cycle of the building.

The interior is designed as a unique and flexible space, rather than as a series of pre-defined rooms. Light and movable furniture allows pilates classes to be held in the house, informal gatherings or rest, without changing the spatial organization.

Simple geometry, balanced proportions and a reduced palette of natural earth tones allow the house to unobtrusively fit into the environment between the Vojvodina plain and the landscape that rises on the other side of the Sava River. Rather than dominating the environment, it responds to climate, movement and seasonal rhythms, creating a peaceful sanctuary that strengthens the connection between man and nature.
