On January 29, 2022, members of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Business Association of Serbia visited the children's village "Dr Milorad Pavlović" in Sremska Kamenica, which is currently the home of almost 100 children and young people without parental care.
On this occasion, the Hellenic Business Association of Serbia donated more than 800 products, including personal hygiene products, cleaning products, as well as many other products for the daily life of the children, worth RSD 200,000, the announcement says.
Stylianos Zakof, President of the BoD, Nikolaos Sliousaregko, Vice President of the BoD, and Vuk Dapčević, member of the BoD, handed over a donation to the director of the institution, Mirko Jankelić, and received a thank you letter from the children's village.
Part of the amount for this donation was collected at the traditional Christmas dinner of the members in December 2021, during which a humanitarian lottery was organized, while the rest of the money was allocated from the Association’s budget.
Greek companies and members of the Association once again pointed out the humanity and importance of solidarity and care for the community through the activities they initiate and develop, it is added.
The children's village Sremska Kamenica belongs in a large family of SOS Children's Villages. It was established in 1975 as a 100th in the world and the 1st in the Eastern Europe. There are currently 200 children's villages in the world that operate according to the principles of the SOS Kinderdorf organization.
