The national airline Air Serbia has announced that the mixing of arriving and departing passengers in the transfer zone at Belgrade Airport yesterday resulted in the contamination of the transfer zone. Consequently, in accordance with airport security procedures, the entire transfer zone had to be re-screened.

This procedure requires all passengers and staff to temporarily leave the transfer zone and undergo security screening again.

– This situation, which is beyond Air Serbia’s operational control, is significantly affecting flight operations and may lead to delays, including a potential impact on the third wave of the scheduled flight timetable, with delays of up to three hours depending on the route – the company stated.

Air Serbia expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and stated that it was doing everything in its power to minimize potential delays and other operational disruptions, adding that passengers who missed their connecting flights due to this situation would be rebooked on alternative flights.

For more information, passengers can call the Air Serbia Contact Center at 0800 111 528 from Serbia or +381 11 311 21 23 from abroad, or visit the airserbia.com website or Air Serbia’s social media pages.
