Donation of EUR 700.000 for reconstruction of the Institute for mother and child

(The Institute for mother and child) The acting head at the Institute for mother and child, Radoje Simic, says for RTS that the institution received EUR 700.000 from a donor from Canada. It is a family of Serbian origin who lived in that country for years.

In his interview for RTS, Radoje Simic said the funds from donors to the institutions is welcomed and that it will be spent on reconstruction of some departments and equipping with new devices.

Simic specifies that, with an objective of better treatment of young patients, immunology and metabolism departments will be reconstructed as well as gastroenterology.

Apart from reconstruction, they are also planning equipping of labs and cabinets, doctor Simic outlines.

He adds the funds were provided by the Trifunovic family from Canada who died but left a part of funds in their testimony which would develop treatment of the youngest patients.

He mentions the state will save some EUR 700.00 and adds that everything with respect this donation will be transparent since, as he says, the history of the Ognjanovic family will not repeat.

The Institute for mother and child annually admits approximately 200.000 kids and 185 doctors take care about them.
