Within Belgrade Waterfront, in the section from the Belgrade Fair to Ada Ciganlija (the “Marina” project), the construction of a 120-meter-high multi-floor building, as well as a residential block of 18 buildings, is planned, said the deputy director of Belgrade Waterfront, Aleksandar Trifunovic.

As he said, the project includes a dominant residential part of a total of 18 new residential buildings.

– We have so far built two kilometers of a promenade, from Branko’s Bridge, ending with the old rail bridge that we are converting into a pedestrian bridge, and from that point to Ada Ciganlija there is another 2.4 kilometers of Sava promenade, which we will also develop in the same spirit as we developed this previous section. Except that there will be a little more greenery – Trifunovic told RTS.

As he stated, the construction of a school and kindergarten is planned in that area, and halls 1, 2 and 3 of the current Fair will be preserved.

– As for Hall 1, that impressive architectural work will be completely reconstructed. The interior is being reconstructed, and three independent units are being created there, one of which will be an opera with some 1,500 seats, the second part is a stage for a cabaret, and the third is for a theater – said Trifunovic, adding that the space would also contain restaurants and cafes, and that the content of halls 2 and 3 would be defined by an architectural public competition, which would be announced not long after.

He added that, in addition to residential and commercial buildings and parks, a marina with 110 berths was planned in front of Hall 1.

According to Trifunovic, the reconstruction of the former Milan Vapa Paper Mill in Vojvode Misica Boulevard, where the Nikola Tesla Museum will be relocated, should begin soon.
