Belgrade Waterfront has announced the development of a new urban entity called Belgrade Waterfront Marina, which will be located on the right bank of the Sava River, between the Ada Bridge and the future pedestrian bridge (Old Railway Bridge). The project includes the construction of a marina, public spaces, cultural facilities and transport infrastructure, the Belgrade Waterfront company announced yesterday.

As part of the new entity, the construction of a city marina in the area near Hall 1, a mixed-use tower about 120 meters high, as well as several other facilities is planned.

The marina, as announced, should also include accompanying facilities such as a yacht club and an outdoor swimming pool.

On the New Belgrade bank of the Sava River, between the future pedestrian bridge and the Gazela Bridge, as is already known to the public, the construction of a Ferris wheel called the “Belgrade Eye” is also planned.

The project also envisages the extension of the Sava promenade by 2.4 kilometers, all the way to Ada Ciganlija. Pedestrian and bicycle corridors, as well as catering and public facilities, are planned along the new route.

The urban concept also envisages the formation of the so-called “Green Line,” a linear park that would connect the Topcider Park with a new pedestrian bridge and park areas on both banks of the Sava River.

The plan also includes the conversion of Hall 1 into a cultural institution, which should house an opera. A central square is planned in front of the facility, while the future purpose of Halls 2 and 3 will be defined through a public architectural competition.

The traffic infrastructure of the new complex includes an avenue with two traffic lanes in both directions, pedestrian areas and tree-lined avenues, as well as the construction of an underground garage in the Hall 1 area, with additional parking capacities along the main roads.
