Construction of five bases for maintenance of state roads upcoming – Roads of Serbia open tender for preparation of necessary urban planning documentation

The construction of bases (points) for the maintenance of state roads is being planned in Serbia, namely, within the section of the infrastructure corridor of the IM-grade state road no. 3 (Sabac-Loznica Motorway), IB-grade state road no. 21 (Fruska Gora Corridor) and the infrastructure corridor of the IM-grade state road no. 7 (Danube Corridor). Ahead of this, the PE Roads of Serbia has opened the public procurement procedure for the preparation of urban planning, that is, urban planning and technical documentation for determining the public interest for the construction of these facilities.

The plan is for two those planned bases, the ones on the Sabac-Loznica motorway, to be in the zone of the Petlovaca interchange and in the zone of the Loznica North roundabout. On the future Novi Sad-Ruma motorway, the Miseluk base is planned, whereas on the Danube Corridor, the Pozarevac base is planned, as well as the Veliko Gradiste base.

– The base (point) complex has the basic function of servicing all the necessary works of wintertime and summertime road maintenance, as well as for technical interventions in traffic disturbances due to traffic accidents. In determining the locations of the maintenance bases (points), the following criteria were determined: the proximity of settlements, the possibility of equipping with utility infrastructure, an environmental suitability, a functional distance of 30-40 km, an adequate possibility of vehicle maneuvering – the documentation clarifies.

The features of the maintenance points should be a salt facility (a salt and aggregate storage facility), a garage with an administrative part, a parking lot for the employees and a fence.

– Within the Pozarevac point, two garage facilities with administrative parts and two salt facilities should be planned, considering that the point (base) is planned for highway maintenance and for the maintenance of other state roads of I and II grades. In each of the other points, one garage facility with an administrative part and one salt facility should be planned, to the end of the maintenance of state roads of I and II grades – the documentation emphasizes.

As emphasized, in the complex of the base (point) for the maintenance of state roads, a simultaneous movement of a larger number of cargo vehicles, which would maneuver within a relatively small space, should be enabled.

– A larger number of facilities in which vehicles enter cannot be passed through, that is, vehicles can only exit them by going in reverse. In order to enable movement with as few conflict points as possible, the vehicles should be directed so that they move in one direction along the border of the point. Through the middle part of the state road maintenance point complex, movement in both directions should be enabled – the documentation points out.

The estimated value of the procurement is RSD 15 million without the VAT.
