Belgrade subway line 2 plan adopted - 24 stations defined

The Belgrade City Assembly has adopted the General Regulation Plan for Rail Systems in Belgrade with elements of detailed development of the second subway line (second stage), which elaborates in detail the above-ground zones intended for the construction of subway system facilities and are located directly along the route or on the route of the second stage of the second subway line.

24 stations of the second line, which is planned on the following route, have also been defined: Depot Bezanija - Marka Celebonovica Street - CHC Bezanijska kosa - Zemun Rail Station - Zemun Novi grad - Ugrinovacka Street - Filipa Visnjica Street - Zemun Stadium - City Park - Dzona Kenedija Street - Municipality of New Belgrade - Mercator - Belgrade Arena - Block 18 – Sava Square - Slavija - Karadjordje Park - Juzni Boulevard - Grcica Milenka Street - Vojislava Ilica Street - Zvezdara Market - Mite Ruzica Street - Ustanicka Street - Mirijevo.

Director of the Chief Urban Planner's Office Svetlana Jovicinac said that the subway stations on the section in question "have been planned very carefully in the pedestrian zone and are served by all forms of public transport, i.e. they are connected to bus, trolleybus and tram lines".

Let us remind that a few days ago a contract was signed for the design and construction of the first subway line installations, which also includes the procurement of 32 sets. The protocol envisages financial support in the form of a loan from the French Treasury in the amount of EUR 150 million for the implementation of the Belgrade subway project.
