Mali: Works on first and second subway lines to be visible next year

Belgrade Waterfront will be the intersection of the first and second subway lines, and the citizens of Belgrade and Serbia will see works on these lines next year, assures Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali.

He provided this information regarding the specific works on the Belgrade Subway, the start of which has been delayed for years, during a tour of the new school and kindergarten in Belgrade Waterfront. Mali said that those facilities would welcome the first pupils and children soon, which should be about a month later, by which time the occupancy permit for the eight-year school and kindergarten was expected to be issued. As he added, the pupils from the nearby “Isidora Sekulić” school, 364 of them, will move into the school building, while children from other parts of the city will also attend this new school from the next school year.

– The elementary school has 9,500 square meters, with classrooms that have already been completed and equipped, and a sports hall. The kindergarten has a capacity of 80 children, everything is properly arranged, there is also a beautiful yard – said Mali.

Speaking about other public facilities in the Belgrade Waterfront zone, Mali pointed out that the History Museum, which will be located in the building of the old Railroad Station, should be completed by the EXPO 2027 exhibition. By 2027, he said, the new Nikola Tesla Museum should also be opened.

He reminded that he had visited the new Sava Bridge the week before, and that a new tunnel would be built nearby, and that the old rail bridge would be turned into a pedestrian bridge, and that the idea was to extend the promenade all the way to Ada Cingalija.
