Negotiations to begin with Chinese company Shandong Hi-Speed Group about second phase of modernization of Nis Airport

The Government of Serbia has adopted the decision to form the Task Force for the Negotiations and Preparation of a Draft Agreement for the Implementation of the Project of the Construction and Modernization of the Nis Constantine the Great Airport - Phase II.

The Task Force is to cooperate with the Chinese company Shandong Hi-Speed Group Co. Ltd, with the aim of defining the value of the works and services on the project, as well as the main elements of the future agreement.

The Task Force is led by Ranko Sekularac, State Secretary at the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, whereas Tatjana Ivkovic from the same ministry performs the secretarial and coordination functions.

Representatives of several institutions have been appointed members of the Task Force, among which are the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Economy and the Aerodromi Srbije company.

According to the decision, the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure will secure expert and technical support to the operations of the group, whereas the members and hired persons will not be paid any compensation for their work.

Upon the completion of the negotiations, the Task Force will submit to the Government a report with basic elements of an agreement and recommendations for further activities.

The decision comes into effect on the eighth day from the publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia.
