Start of construction of Gold City on Zlatibor announced for next year – First information about airport investor to come soon

The preparation of planning documentation and settlement of property relations is underway so that the area around the Ribnica Lake is ready for the construction of the Gold City. The President of the Municipality of Cajetina, Milan Stamatovic, announced the tender for the development of a special purpose plan in cooperation with the Ministry of Construction, after which the determination of public interest and the development of the main project will follow, and the works will start next year, the Cajetina Municipality portal Zlatiborske vesti reports.

– This is a serious job and a long-standing project. We will not give up on it. For several years now, we have been talking about New Zlatibor, Gold City, golf courses, residential villas and high-class hotels on this stretch. This is something that will mark this year through planning and project documentation, and I hope that next year we will start with the first works. We are also working on the construction of an airport in Zlatibor with a length of 700 meters in the first phase, and later 1,500 and 2,500 meters. It all depends on the investors who are interested and send us a letter about their intentions, and we carefully analyze it and we will come out with that data very soon – says Stamatovic.

He emphasizes that the Gold gondola significantly contributed to the development of tourism on Zlatibor, but also to the rise in real estate prices. The figure of one million passengers in a short period of time best speaks of the justification of the gondola project and the new offer of Zlatibor as a destination.

– What will be built around Ribnica Lake and the intermediate station is a new flywheel that will kickstart Zlatibor. Our very idea that through listening and respecting the profession, which advised that the intermediate station should be at the Ribnica Lake, speaks of the fact that it was the right move. The situation is such that we have to make do with our own sources, and I hope that this idea of ours has been recognized by foreign investors who will start to develop it in cooperation with the local self-government – said the President of the Municipality of Cajetina.

Stamatovic added that the Special Purpose Plan would open up the possibility for the entire stretch from the Ribnica Lake to Tornik and Pribojska Banja to be the direction of development of the concept of New Zlatibor and the tourist offer that would position Zlatibor shoulder to shoulder with world tourist centers by 2050.
