Extension of cooperation between Valjevo and Japan - 3 million euros for construction of old age home

At the meeting with Japanese ambassador Toshio Tzunozaki, Valjevo Mayor Zoran Jakovljevic presented the city, culture, tradition and customs, as well as industrial potentials of the Valjevo region. Since the ambassador announced that the Japanese investors would be present in Serbia in the future as well, the city management has used the opportunity and introduced the ambassador to some important projects for the city of Valjevo.

- The biggest donation to the city of Valjevo is the donation of the Government of Japan, worth about 3 million euros, for the construction of an Old Age Home, of which construction is underway - Valjevo Mayor pointed out and expressed gratitude to the ambassador for the great help of the people of Japan to our country.

The Japanese Government has so far invested over 200 million euros in Serbia.

Ambassador of Japan Toshio Tzunozaki was staying in Valjevo on the occasion of the opening of an exhibition of Japanese graphics from the 18th and the 19th century in the National Museum. About 30 graphics are on display, including the works of some top Japanese artists of the 19th century - Utamaro, Hiroshige, Kunisada and others.

Within the scope of the project "Days of Japan in Serbia", which has so far included a series of manifestations in Lazarevac, Pancevo, Zrenjanin, Novi Sad, Gornji Milanovac, Jagodina, Kursumlija and Zajecar, the exhibition called "Images of Ephemeral World", from the collection of Ninko Radosavljevic, marked the "Day of Japan" in Valjevo.
