Strategic partnership for Simpo and Yumco – Investment in new technologies and product range and entry into new markets planned with the Chinese

The planned strategic partnership between Chinese investors and Yumco and Simpo envisages investment in new technologies and product range, as well as entry into new markets.

Regarding the investment and partnership for these two companies, Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic spoke in Xiamen with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, on the eve of the opening of the CIFIT (China International Fair for Investment and Trade) in Xiamen.

– We have opened some of the key topics, such as resolving the strategic partnership for Yumco and Simpo, bearing in mind that we are talking and negotiating a lot about this, that we are working intensively on finding a strategic partnership that will be established with large state-owned companies in the south of our country, where we will, of course, also invest in new technologies, in a new product range, and enter some other markets, which will significantly determine the position of these companies – said Mesarovic after the bilateral meeting with Han.

The fact that a strategic partnership with the Chinese is being planned for Yumco and Simpo was announced about a month ago by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic when he pointed out that the state would not close Yumco’s plant in Raca near Kursumlija, where uniforms and special clothing for the army, police, and public enterprises are sewn. He stated at the time that new machines would be purchased, that the workers’ salaries would be increased and that their seniority would be linked to their length of service.
