The construction of the Belgrade Subway will be monitored through a unified digital platform that will consolidate project documentation, data on construction works and costs and the movement of tunnel-boring machines. An agreement on business-technical cooperation has been signed in Belgrade between the Public Utility Company Belgrade Metro and Train and the company Data Cloud Technology.

As noted, this agreement establishes a framework for long-term business-technical cooperation, encompassing the exchange of knowledge and experience, professional development, as well as collaboration in the application of modern information technologies, data management and information security.

Andreja Mladenovic, Director of Belgrade Metro and Train, emphasized that the construction of the Belgrade Subway entailed not only the building of tunnels and stations but also the establishment of a complex project management system. The application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology will enable a digital representation of all construction phases and subway components.

As he stated, this collaboration is significant due to the use of BIM technology, which allows all project participants to be connected via a single platform, facilitating the tracking of every element, from the design stage through to final implementation. He noted that the objective was to consolidate all project data, spanning from design to construction, onto a digital platform, which will enable the monitoring of all activities and the long-term preservation of documentation.

He emphasized that cooperation with the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment, as well as the data center, is crucial for the secure management of the project, a project involving international partners such as the Chinese company PowerChina, France's Alstom, and Spain's Ingerop.

Mihailo Jovanovic, Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, noted that a BIM model would be used to monitor the construction of the subway and store all project documentation, including preliminary and main designs, construction permits and records from contractors and supervisors. This information system, he explained, will enable more efficient monitoring of the construction process, the movement of tunnel-boring machines and project costs.
