Cybersecurity Alliance formed: Platform for strengthening cybersecurity

HUB201, a national and regional innovation center for cybersecurity and artificial intelligence application, has officially launched the Cybersecurity Alliance. This platform brings together companies, institutions, experts, startups, and the academic community to foster collaboration and develop a collective response to increasingly complex cybersecurity challenges.

The Cybersecurity Alliance was unveiled at the inaugural Founding Members Dinner in Belgrade, an exclusive event attended by Alliance members and key representatives from the domestic and international cybersecurity ecosystem. The event showcased the Alliance’s vision and work plan, outlining the activities through which members will share knowledge and experience, build internal capabilities, and jointly address issues critical to the future of cybersecurity.

The Cybersecurity Alliance comprises representatives from the public sector, the cybersecurity and technology industries, telecommunications, finance, the industrial sector, and the innovation ecosystem, as well as domestic and international companies and organizations: ASEE, Yettel Bank, Ingram Micro, PULSEC, Kaspersky, Ivanti, Science Technology Park Nis, MIND Group, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Microsoft, Ananas, Group-IB Europe, Telekom Srbija, Sky Express, Schneider Electric, AIGO Business System, ALEF, MBCOM Technologies, Visa, Orion Telekom, Rakuten Viber, Office for IT and e-Government / Cyber District, Data Cloud Technology, Philip Morris International, IBM, Comtrade System Integration, Siemens Energy, and Rohde & Schwarz.

– Cybersecurity is no longer merely a technical issue. Today, it is a matter of trust, business continuity, regulatory readiness, and overall digital resilience. At HUB201, our goal is to help organizations strengthen their capacity to timely identify cyber risks, build resilience against them, and respond effectively to incidents. Through the Cybersecurity Alliance and its members, we are building a platform that connects expertise, industry knowledge, and practical experience to help companies and institutions in Serbia and the wider region develop stronger capabilities, improve preparedness, and contribute to a more resilient digital ecosystem – stated Vladimir Radovanovic, CEO of HUB201.

Connecting the private and public sectors will also play a key role in the Alliance’s development, aiming to provide a space for companies, institutions, and experts to engage in continuous dialogue regarding regulatory changes, the development of new technologies, and challenges affecting secure digital business operations.

– Cybersecurity is no longer a challenge that can be successfully tackled in isolation. Modern threats require continuous cooperation among the state, industry, the academic community, and experts. That is why it is particularly significant that the Cybersecurity Alliance has, right from its inception, brought together a large number of relevant domestic and international companies and partners. Our goal is to use initiatives like this to connect knowledge, experience, and innovation, transforming them into concrete solutions that contribute to a stronger and more resilient digital environment – said Mihailo Jovanovic, Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment.

A key aspect of the Alliance’s future work will also involve developing international cooperation and linking the domestic cyber ecosystem with leading international centers of knowledge and innovation.

Daniel Martin, Executive Director at Cyber7, Israel’s national cyber district, participated in the official launch of the Cybersecurity Alliance. He works on developing the Israeli cyber ecosystem and connecting industry, institutions, and the academic community through strategic partnerships.

– Cybersecurity is, much like life itself, a puzzle that no single actor can solve alone. The academic community, the state, and the industry must learn to work together to strengthen resilience, foster innovation, and enhance cybersecurity as a whole. It is precisely this kind of collaboration that creates the synergy needed to develop a robust cyber ecosystem. We have been operating this way in Israel for ten years and have seen the excellent results such an approach can yield. I believe Serbia is now at the right moment to adopt a similar model and further strengthen its cyber ecosystem – said Daniel Martin.

The Alliance’s activities will unfold across three main program pillars: 201:Academy, covering professional and certification programs, skills development, cybersecurity awareness, and business leader education; 201:Innovation, connecting companies with startups, technology teams, and new solutions through pilot projects and other innovation programs; and 201:Community, bringing together experts, talent, and business leaders through professional events, sector-specific programs, and continuous knowledge sharing.

The ambition is for the Cybersecurity Alliance to become, by 2028, a regionally recognized Western Balkans platform for cybersecurity and digital resilience, linking education, regulation, innovation, and practical application. The launch of the Alliance marks a significant step in the further development of the Cyber District ecosystem and the strengthening of cooperation among institutions, industry, academia, and the innovation sector, with a focus on capacity building and the long-term cyber resilience of Serbia and the region, the statement says.
