Bele Vode subway station in new urban area next to future school and health center: Three levels, two entrances, safety waiting areas for people with disabilities (PHOTO)

A few weeks ago, the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure issued a building permit to the Belgrade Metro and Train company, acting as the project developer, for construction work at the Bele Vode station. This work is essential for launching the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine), or the so-called subway mole. Details regarding the station’s appearance and features on the first subway line have now been revealed.

According to the PUC Belgrade Metro and Train, the station will be located in a new urban area adjacent to a future school and health center.

The Bele Vode subway station will be situated beneath a future collector road (featuring two lanes in each direction) that will connect Milorada Jovanovica Street with a major thoroughfare slated for future development.

The station itself will be an underground facility with a mezzanine level, specifically, a shallow underground station spanning three levels: a large hall, the platform, and a sub-platform area. The platform level will be located approximately 13.95 meters below the station entrance level.

The station will feature four elevators, two public entrances, and safety waiting areas for people with disabilities. Each platform will have two access points - stairs and escalators. Emergency stairs will also be provided.

The station will feature a distinctive sloping roof and a brick-and-glass façade, with glazed sections designed to open for natural ventilation. Ceilings in public areas will utilize the Hunter Douglas system with integrated LED strips.

This station is particularly important because, as indicated by Belgrade Metro and Train, one of the two TBMs will start from this very location to excavate the Line 1 tunnel towards the Belgrade Fair station.
