The new interchange is planned at kilometer 2+104 of State Road IA-3, that is, the E-70 highway, within the Batrovci cadastral municipality in the municipality of Sid. According to the project documentation, the new connection aims to link the highway with the local road network and provide access to Batrovci and surrounding areas, while relieving the settlement of transit and freight traffic.
The project entails the construction of four traffic lanes, two entry and two exit lanes, with a total length of 2,285.59 meters.
For traffic moving from the highway toward Batrovci, an exit lane measuring 504.72 meters and an entry lane measuring 471.60 meters are planned. On the other side of the interchange, the design includes an exit lane measuring 649.07 meters and an entry lane leading toward the border crossing, measuring 660.20 meters.
The roadways are primarily designed as one-way routes, six meters wide, featuring acceleration and deceleration lanes.
The works also include modifications to the local road network, such as widening the carriageway to accommodate a left-turn lane and reconstructing specific sections of the existing road. Roadway widening is planned for one section to allow two heavy goods vehicles with trailers to pass each other safely.
The new interchange will connect to the local road network via a three-leg roundabout with a diameter of 42 meters.
The project also includes a complete public lighting system, which is currently absent from the site. LED luminaires will be installed on 10-meter-high poles, with Class C1 lighting levels specified for the intersections.
The interchange will also be equipped with Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), including telecommunications infrastructure, video surveillance, and automatic traffic detection and counting.
Plans include the installation of traffic monitoring cameras, automatic counters, and portals with variable message signs (VMS). The video system will enable monitoring of traffic at the interchange and approach zones, as well as automatic incident detection and information relay to the operator.
The deadline for bid submission is October 6, and more details (in Serbian) can be found HERE.
