The Spatial Plan of the Special Purpose Area for the construction of the extension of the Danube Corridor to Brza Palanka is in the final phase of development, which will give Golubac a completely circular bypass, which is also important for the protection of the Golubac Fortress, said Minister of Construction Aleksandra Sofronijevic.

– This is a 90-kilometer road with 54-kilometer branches towards Kladovo and Negotin – specified Sofronijevic, expressing hope that works on the extension of the road would begin as early as 2027.

As she said, Serbia’s strategy is to develop both European corridors, but also these corridors that are very important for connecting Serbian citizens with the capital, but also with Europe.

She announced that the last 12 kilometers of the Morava Corridor, the Kuzmin–Sremska Raca, Slepcevic–Badovinci sections, as well as the northern bypass around Kragujevac, would be completed by the end of the year.

Let us remind that, in June this year, the Spatial Planning Agency announced a public review of the Spatial Plan for the Special Purpose Area of the IB Class Expressway Infrastructure Corridor on the Golubac-Donji Milanovac-Brza Palanka and Kladovo-Negotin routes.

The construction of the planned expressways aims to connect the Golubac-Donji Milanovac-Brza Palanka and Kladovo-Negotin routes with the planned sections of the IB-class expressways Požarevac-Golubac and Paraćin-Negotin, thus completing the unique system of IB-class expressways that integrates the area of the Danube region (Djerdap Gorge) and eastern Serbia (parts of the Timok region), and connects it with Corridor H (state road IA-class A1, highway E-75), Pomoravlje and central Serbia.
