The draft agreement by which Serbia and Romania will further regulate all relations regarding the construction of the Pancevo-Vrsac-Vatin-Timisoara highway, as well as the joint border crossing, will be exchanged in the next seven days, announced the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijevic after a meeting with the Romanian Minister of Transport Radu-Dinel Miruta in Timisoara, where they discussed the construction of this highway.
– Romania has gone much further in the implementation of this project. Serbia is still in the phase of drafting the Spatial Plan for Special Purpose Areas and the development of a conceptual design, but I think that when there is a will, we will also solve our job very quickly – Sofronijevic told reporters.
The Ministers of Transport of Serbia and Romania also discussed the problems of the stay of Serbian professional drivers in the Schengen area, as well as the safety of navigation on the international waterway of the Danube.
The interstate agreement on connecting the Belgrade-Vatin highway on the Serbian side and the Timisoara-Moravica highway on the Romanian side was signed in 2022.
