Minth opens first humanoid factory in Serbia in Sabac – To employ 200 people and “send” 80 robots to Expo

The Chinese company Minth Group opened the first humanoid robot factory in our country in Sabac, and the ceremony was attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

Upon arrival at the factory, Vucic met with the company’s management and the founder of “Minth Group” Chin Jong Hwa. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Serbian Government, companies, local governments and business partners.

– We will show all the advancements of our technologies and everything that is produced in Serbia at Expo – said Vucic at the beginning of his speech.

Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali said that the state plans to take about 80 robots for Expo (Expo 2027 Belgrade) and that they will be used to “greet guests, clean, and for various other things.”

Robots Milutin and Dragutin, dressed in national costumes, with traditional hats on their heads, greeted those present and said that everyone had already seen the “moravac” dance.

– I opened Yazaki here in 2017, which is the largest employer along with Minth. The Chinese have built many factories in the meantime. Minth has 2,200 employees in Sabac, they have become the largest employer – said Vucic and added that the factory in Sabac would employ 200 people.

New investments

The President of Serbia said that, at the invitation of the President of Minth, he would meet with the management of the Chinese company on Monday and sign the first contracts for the battery factory with the Reliance company in Indjija - an investment of EUR 100.5 million.

– It’s Indjija again, because they want to build a complete park there for the development of the robotics, drone industry and everything else. This is important to them because they will be able to have enough labor from Belgrade and Novi Sad – said Vucic.

Vucic toured the new factory in Sabac, talked to the employees and got acquainted with the production of robots. As he was told, considerable precision is required. For example, it takes 45 to 60 minutes to produce one leg.

– Chin brought 300 workers and now there are 4,300. I expect a record export of EUR 1.5 billion next year from Serbian factories. Minth built Loznica, now it will be Sabac, and then Indjija. It is best when our workers produce something – he added.

On Friday, during a visit to the Macva District, Vucic announced that the robot factory in Sabac would be a big deal for Serbia.

Vucic announced more projects - the production of drones, batteries for robots and the like, and reiterated that Serbia had to keep pace with the development of advanced technologies.

– This is a step into the future, in just 15 days the use of robots for the Serbian army will be presented – Vucic said.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced in February that he was planning to open a humanoid robot factory after a meeting with representatives of the Chinese company AGIBOT Innovation.

He then pointed out that this was about applied artificial intelligence and explained that it was not just about software but also hardware.
