New expressway to be built from Kula to Bogojevo: Technical documentation being developed

At the session of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, a decision was made to develop a Spatial Plan for a Special Purpose Area of the IB Class State Road Infrastructure Corridor, Kula-Bogojevo section. This decision represents a step in the implementation of an infrastructure project related to the construction of the Vojvodina Smile expressway, on the Backi Breg-Sombor-Kula-Vrbas-Srbobran-Becej-Kikinda-Nakovo route, announced the Municipality of Odzaci, where a meeting was held to develop technical documentation for this road corridor.

As the Municipality of Odzaci reminds, the Kula–Bogojevo road was included in the Spatial Plan of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina for the period 2021–2035, after which the municipalities of Odzaci and Kula submitted a joint initiative to the Provincial Government to initiate the development of project documentation.

The spatial plan covers parts of the territories of the municipalities of Vrbas, Kula, Odzaci and Apatin, while the territory of the municipality of Odzaci includes the cadastral municipalities of Lalic, Backi Gracac, Odzaci, Srpski Miletic and Bogojevo.

The Provincial Secretary for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection, Nemanja Erceg, pointed out that the road route would enable a direct connection of the port of Bogojevo with local governments that gravitated towards the future expressway, which would be of great importance for the development of the economy.

The future Kula-Bogojevo state road is located on the route of the planned bypass around Odzaci, which makes this project particularly important for the development of the municipality’s transport infrastructure, according to the Municipality of Odzaci.
