Green light for geotextile factory in Svilajnac – Fortis Technical Textiles starts phase-based construction of 10,570 m2 complex

Fortis Technical Textiles has received approval for the Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the phase-based construction project of a production and administrative complex for the production of technical fabrics and meshes for various purposes in Svilajnac.

As announced by the Svilajnac Municipal Administration, the complex will be built on cadastral plot 2422/60 KO Svilajnac, and the project holder is Fortis Technical Textiles from Svilajnac.

The impact assessment procedure determined that the study was prepared in accordance with the Law on Environmental Impact Assessment and that it contains defined measures for the prevention, reduction and elimination of possible harmful impacts on the environment.

The decision on granting approval stipulates the obligation of the investor to implement environmental protection measures during the construction and operation of the facility, including measures for the prevention of accidents and the elimination of the consequences of possible accidents, as well as monitoring the impact of the project on the environment.

As eKapija already wrote, the investor Fortis Technical Textiles doo plans to build a production and administrative complex in phases on a plot of land measuring approximately 2.17 hectares. The project includes a total of eight buildings, including a production facility, an administrative building, warehouses, a workshop and a technical block.

The total gross developed construction area of the planned buildings is approximately 10,570 m2, and the implementation is planned in several phases.

Upon completion of all phases, the factory should reach an annual capacity of approximately 2.85 million square meters of geotextiles and 12.25 million square meters of polymer-coated construction meshes. In the first phase, it is planned to reach 50% of the total capacity.

The production program includes high-strength geotextiles, geogrids, geocomposites and special reinforced fabrics, which are used in construction and infrastructure projects.

The environmental impact assessment study was prepared by ECOlogica Urbo doo, while the conceptual design was prepared by Studio Structura doo.
