Green Light Granted for Banat 2 Wind Farm – 25 Wind Turbines Planned Near Alibunar

The Provincial Secretariat for Urbanism and Environmental Protection has issued a decision approving the Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the construction project of the Banat 2 wind farm in the municipality of Alibunar.

The project developer is the company Vetroelektrana Banat 2 doo Alibunar, while the study was prepared by ECOlogica URBO DOO from Kragujevac.

The Banat 2 wind farm will consist of up to 25 wind turbines, each with a capacity of up to 8 MW, with a total planned installed capacity of up to 140 MW.

The project includes the construction of wind turbines with towers and foundations, access roads, a cable network and permanent handling platforms for maintenance.

The maximum height of the towers will be about 165 m, while the height of the wind turbines with the rotor in the upper position will be up to 250 m, with blades up to 85 m long. The turbines will have an active wind direction control system, converters for optimal energy production and will be connected to the 35/400 kV “Banat 2” transformer station.

The turbine towers will be installed outside the protection zones of existing infrastructure, and access during construction and operation will be provided via adapted field roads.
