Svilajnac to get facility for production of geotextiles, geomeshes and reinforced fabrics – Fortis Technical Textiles to build factory for new-generation construction materials

The procedure for the implementation of a new industrial complex for the production of technical fabrics and meshes has been launched in Svilajnac, and public review of the environmental impact assessment study is ongoing.

The investor Fortis Technical Textiles doo is planning phase-based construction of a production and administrative complex on a plot of approximately 2.17 hectares. The project includes a total of eight buildings, including a production plant, an administrative building, warehouses, a workshop and a technical block.

The total gross developed construction area of the planned buildings is approximately 10,570 m2, and the implementation is planned in several phases.

Upon completion of all phases, the factory should reach an annual capacity of approximately 2.85 million square meters of geotextiles and 12.25 million square meters of polymer-coated construction meshes. The first phase is planned to reach 50% of the total capacity.

The production program includes high-strength geotextiles, geomeshes, geocomposites and special reinforced fabrics, which are used in construction and infrastructure projects.

The Environmental Impact Assessment Study was prepared by ECOlogica Urbo doo, while the preliminary design was prepared by Studio Structura doo.

The interested public can inspect the documentation at the Municipal Administration in Svilajnac, as well as on the official website of the municipality, within 40 days from the publication of the notice. A public hearing and presentation of the study are scheduled for May 11 at the municipal premises.
