Government of Serbia extends ban on exports of oil and petroleum products until April 2 – 40,000 tons of diesel to be released from reserves in coming days

The Government of Serbia has extended the ban on exports of oil and petroleum products until April 2. The ban applies to diesel, gasoline and crude oil and applies to all modes of transport.

– We extended the ban as one of the measures to protect citizens and the economy from the ongoing surge in oil prices on the world market. In addition, we have decided to release 40,000 tons of diesel from reserves, as an additional measure to protect the market, which will be implemented in the coming days – said Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic.

As she reminded, excise duties on fuel have been reduced by 20%. The intention is to protect the market from shortages of oil derivatives and price spikes, due to global disruptions in the world market due to the conflict in the Middle East and the 40% increase in oil prices in recent weeks.
