The Government of Serbia has decided at an extraordinary session to ban the export of oil and all petroleum products for engine propulsion, the statement says.

– The ban applies to the export of diesel, gasoline and crude oil by all modes of transport until March 19, after which we will make further decisions. The essence of this ban is to protect the domestic market from shortages and price spikes, due to global disruptions on the world market – stated Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic.

She pointed out that Serbia was a country “in which citizens pay less for petroleum products than their real price on the stock exchange,” and that the state was doing “everything to protect the citizens and the economy.”
