Hungary-Serbia pipeline tender halted

Transnafta Joint Stock Company has halted further activities in the public procurement procedure for the construction of the oil pipeline between Hungary and Serbia, as a request for protection of rights has been filed.

The tender for the construction of the oil pipeline between Hungary and Serbia was recently extended until February 26. The original deadline for submitting bids for the tender announced in late December was February 5, and since the announcement, the tender has had as many as five corrections, which mainly related to changes in the tender documentation due to ambiguities.

The public procurement announced by Transnafta ad Pancevo as the contractor includes construction works and expert supervision of the construction of this main oil pipeline.

The starting point of transport on the Hungary-Novi Sad main oil pipeline is near the Horgos border crossing, northeast of the settlement of Horgos, and the end point of the pipeline is the Transnafta Terminal in Novi Sad.

The pipeline will be approximately 113 km long on the territory of Serbia, entirely underground, with an annual capacity of 5.5 million tons of oil per year.

The route of the linear part of the main oil pipeline with accompanying facilities runs through the territories of the municipalities of Kanjiza, Senta, Ada, Becej, Zabalj and the city of Novi Sad. The main direction of the route is from north to south.

The value of the job was not specified in the tender, but earlier estimates went up to EUR 157 million for the Serbian section of the oil pipeline.
