Transnafta ad Pancevo has announced a tender for the construction of a Hungarian border-Novi Sad oil pipeline. The public procurement refers to construction works and professional supervision of the work.

In the tender documentation, it is reminded that the construction of the main oil pipeline between Hungary and Serbia is a national interest in order to ensure the diversification of import routes and safer supply of the domestic market, considering that now the only direction from which Serbia imports oil is through Croatia and the Janaf oil pipeline.

The new pipeline enables Serbia to receive oil from the direction of Hungary, through whose territory the Druzhba oil pipeline passes, and which supplies most of Europe with crude oil. The project is being implemented for the transportation of REB (“Russian Export Blend”) oil.

The starting point of transportation on the main oil pipeline Hungary-Novi Sad is near the Horgos border crossing, northeast of the Horgos settlement, and the end point of the oil pipeline is the Transnafta Terminal in Novi Sad.

The oil pipeline on the territory of Serbia will be about 113 meters long, entirely underground, with an annual capacity of 5.5 million tons of oil per year.

The route of the linear part of the main oil pipeline with accompanying facilities is located in the territories of the municipality of Kanjiza, the municipality of Senta, the municipality of Ada, the municipality of Becej, the municipality of Zabalj and the city of Novi Sad. The main direction of the route is from north to south.

The value of the work was not specified in the tender, but earlier estimates were up to EUR 157 million for the Serbian section of the pipeline.

The tender expires on February 5, and other details (in Serbian) can be found HERE.
