Systems on Serbian and Hungarian sides of railway being connected in border areas – It only remains for Hungarians to certify Soko

In the border areas, the systems on the Serbian and Hungarian sides of the high-speed railway are being connected, said Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijevic. She pointed out that they were waiting for the Hungarian side to launch and test its systems, as well as for the training of train drivers and staff.

As she said, it remains for the Hungarians to certify Soko in Hungary, after which the training of train drivers and staff will begin.

– I hope and believe that our Hungarian colleagues will fulfill what they said, and that we can, for EUR 32 EUR in dinar equivalent, get from Belgrade to Budapest in three hours and 15 minutes in March already – she said, as reported by RT Balkan.

Freight traffic on the Belgrade - Budapest railway will, as previously announced, start at the end of this month, and passenger traffic by the end of March.

As the Srbijavoz company announced on its Instagram page in recent days, five new Chinese trains will carry passengers on the Belgrade - Budapest route. Currently, three previously purchased Stadler double-decker trains are used on the intercity Soko line in Serbia.
