The task of the Working Group is to consider and provide an expert opinion on the proposal for a commercial contract for the supply of trains, to analyze the manufacturer’s offer for electric trainsets designed for speeds up to 120 kilometers per hour, as well as to evaluate the offer related to the maintenance of the trains after the warranty period expires. The Working Group will, within this framework, also participate in the preparation of contract documentation.
The Working Group is headed by Milan Petrovic, Acting Assistant Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, while Aleksandar Adamovic, Acting Director of the Directorate for Railways, and Masan Radojevic from Srbijavoz have been appointed as his deputies.
The Working Group also includes representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Public Debt Administration, the Directorate for Railways, Srbijavoz, as well as the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.
The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure will provide professional and administrative-technical support to the work of the Working Group.
Let us remind that, as eKapija recently wrote, more concrete steps regarding the renewal of the BG Voz rolling stock, according to eKapija’s findings, were taken recently when state representatives, including officials from the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Economy, had two meetings with representatives of the Spanish CAF (best known in our country for the 30 trams purchased for Belgrade about fifteen years ago). As we were told, CAF held presentations where it introduced its CAF Civity trains. Apparently, the authorities involved in this business in the country liked the offer of the Spanish manufacturer, so, as we were told, there is a good chance that new trains will be purchased from CAF for the needs of BG Voz. Specifically, the potential purchase of 30 CAF trains is being considered. For these needs, as we were told, the state plans to take out a loan of EUR 315 million. The investor in the purchase of new trains would thus be the state, while the purchase itself would be formally carried out by Srbijavoz.
