At its latest session, the Government of Serbia adopted the Decision on the Establishment of the Interdepartmental Work Group for the Railway Corridor 10 Project in the Republic of Serbia, which concerns the section from Belgrade to Nis.

The task of this work group, as specified in the decision, will be to consider certain issues within the competence of the Government in relation to the project of this railway corridor, as well as to provide proposals, opinions and expert explanations, which it will send to the state administration body in whose scope of work the majority of the tasks for which it was established fall - so that it can, if it deems it necessary, prepare them for the Government as its own.

Milan Petrovic, Acting Assistant Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, was appointed as the President of the work group, which consists of more than 50 members, and Zoran Jevtic, Acting Director of the Serbian Railway Infrastructure, was appointed as his deputy.

Let us remind that the Belgrade-Nis railway will be about 230 kilometers long, and more concrete works on it, as recently announced by the relevant ministry, will begin this year on the section from Stalac to Djunis. As previously indicated, this entire project is worth about EUR 2.77 billion, of which the EU provided a grant of EUR 600 million.
