By the end of the year, the factories of the Italian Ariston and the German Boge will open in Nis, announced the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and added that, in the coming days, he would open a factory in western Serbia.

– It is very important that we have not stopped with bringing investors, although the level of investments has dropped and is 46% lower compared to last year – he said.

Let us remind that the construction of the production facilities of the Italian company Ariston began last summer and that it was announced at the time that the company would produce electric household appliances and that 300 workers should be employed by the end of 2027. EUR 75 million will be invested in the factory, which will be the first one in the industrial zone “North” in Nis.

Ariston produces heating systems and boilers, and it built a small factory in Svilajnac in 2019. The completion of the construction of the factory in Nis of 30,000 m2 is planned for December 2025, it was pointed out last year.

As for Boge, this spring, in the North 2 business zone, between Camurlijski Put Street and the highway, the construction of their facility started.

Pakovrace - Pozega section to open in several days

Talking about the road infrastructure, he pointed out that the Pakovrace - Pozega section would open several days later.

As for rail transport, Vucic said that, three months later, the Nis - Brestovac railroad of 23.4 kilometers, for speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour, would open.

– At the same time, as soon as July, we will open the fast railroad from Novi Sad to Subotica for cargo transport, and at the end of August, for passengers. We will travel to Subotica from Belgrade in an hour and 10 minutes – said Vucic.

4.7 million passengers expected with Air Serbia by end-year

Vucic announced that, on Monday, Air Serbia would announce the information about having exceeded the number of two million passengers in June for the first time.

– This year, we expect 4.7 million passengers with our national airline carrier. For the sake of comparison, in 1987, JAT, with six republics, had 4.5 million. We have reached 80 destinations, but we can do even better. We still have India, Japan, Korea and Brazil left – he emphasized.
