The construction of the oil pipeline between Serbia and Hungary is expected to begin in early 2026, as confirmed during a meeting between Serbia’s Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Sziarto, and Russian Deputy Minister of Energy, Pavel Sorokin. According to the announcement, construction is planned to start simultaneously in both Serbia and Hungary.

Commercial terms and capacity requirements for the project are currently being defined to meet the needs of the Serbian oil company NIS.

A technical agreement on pipeline specifications has already been signed by Transnafta and MOL, and the project design documentation is expected to be finalized by the end of the year.
