Elektrodistribucija Srbije facing restructuring – Tender announced for consultants to develop plan

Elektrodistribucija Srbije doo Beograd (EDS) intends to implement a comprehensive restructuring process in order to, as they state, improve its financial stability, operational efficiency and investment planning capabilities. EDS has announced an open procedure for the development of a restructuring plan.

The tender includes two phases, the development of a detailed plan with an operational model and financial solutions, as well as the implementation of recommendations for sustainable business operations.

This initiative, as stated in the tender documentation, is in line with the stand-by arrangement of the Republic of Serbia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

During the first phase, the consultant will analyze EDS’s existing business operations, including the financial condition, key business processes, management structure and IT systems. Based on this, a targeted business model and a financial restructuring proposal will be developed, including scenarios and stress tests to assess the company’s resilience to potential challenges.

In the second phase, the focus will be on implementing recommendations and the TO-BE model, including coordination with internal teams, monitoring progress, assessing the effectiveness of changes and supporting employee training. Special emphasis will also be placed on digitalization, optimizing business processes and improving customer service.

Bidders must provide a team of at least seven experts with experience in financial restructuring, strategic planning, regulatory compliance and improving operational efficiency in the energy sector.
