Nine of these vehicles, as eKapija has learned, will transport passengers from the National Stadium rail station to the Expo 2027 area (on a route about 1.4 km long), while the other six will operate from Block 45 to the Expo 2027 area.
This confirms eKapija’s information and writing from exactly four months ago, regarding the fact that the republic will purchase 100 electric buses for the Expo.
According to eKapija's latest, unofficial information from the top of the City Administration, 50 of these buses will be battery-powered, and the other 50 will be with super capacitors. Since the Expo 2027 complex will be connected by public transport to several parts of the capital, it is clear that in the coming year it will be necessary to install chargers for these vehicles at several stops, more precisely at six of them. These are the Ustanicka Street, Belgrade Waterfront, New Belgrade/Block 20/, New Belgrade/Block 45/, Vuk Monument and Nikola Tesla Airport stops, precisely to those points in the city with which the future fair complex in Surcin will be directly connected.
All 100 electric buses, as we were told, will be of the Higer brand, as they will be purchased within a direct negotiation procedure. The purchase price for these vehicles is not yet known, but according to unofficial information, this purchase could cost approximately EUR 150 million.
The decision for the state to purchase 100 new electric buses is very important for the development of public transport in Belgrade and a more serious use of electric vehicles, and it is especially important that these vehicles will be used by GSP Belgrade, believes a source from the largest city transport company who is familiar with the project of purchasing these vehicles and organizing public transport during the Expo.
