– We are particularly proud of this project because it creates a very good basis for more efficient and better management of our system and the possibility for more active participation of our users in the regulation of the system in general and in the optimization of electricity consumption – Nikolic emphasized.
He stated that EDS was implementing a series of projects that would improve business efficiency and significantly contribute to improving the security and stability of power supply and the reliability of the operation of the electric power distribution system.
– These include the reconstruction of the low-voltage network, in which old, worn-out poles with uninsulated and insufficiently safe conductors are being replaced with significantly better and more stable concrete poles on which a self-supporting cable bundle is being placed. The value of the investment exceeds EUR 100 million and we expect that the result of the project will be a system that is significantly safer and more immune to weather conditions – said Nikolic.
According to him, a project to automate the medium-voltage network is also being carried out, in which worn-out primary equipment is being replaced at slightly more than 2,500 locations and “pulled” into the technical remote control system.
– According to our estimates, this will significantly improve the efficiency of the on-call services, and enable faster localization and elimination of faults – emphasized Nikolic.
