RES SERBIA 2025 Conference bringing together energy transition leaders for fifth time

The largest regional gathering on renewable energy sources will be held on September 17-18 in Vrdnik and will bring together key decision-makers, investors and experts

Where is the renewable energy sector in Serbia, the region and Europe today? The answer to this question will be provided by the RES SERBIA 2025 conference, the green event of the year, which will be held on September 17-18 in the Vrdnicka Kula ethno complex in Vrdnik.

For the fifth year in a row, the conference organized by the Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia Association (RES Serbia) brings together decision-makers, representatives of companies, investors, banks and the academic community.

The previous four conferences brought together more than 1,600 participants, 130 panelists who discussed current topics in the field of renewable energy in 23 panel discussions.

This year, the interest is exceptional, confirming its status as one of the most important regional conferences in the field of energy.

The conference will be officially opened by Dusan Zivkovic, General Director of Electric Power Industry of Serbia, Matteo Colangeli, Regional Head for the Western Balkans of the EBRD, and Andreas von Beckerath, Head of the Delegation and Ambassador of the European Union to Serbia.

The panelists include representatives of the Ministry of Mining and Energy, EPS, Elektromreza Srbije, Elektrodistribucija Srbije, the Energy Community, the Energy Agency of the Republic of Slovenia, Elektroprivreda Crne Gore, the Montenegrin Electric Transmission System, investors, banks, universities.

Is there money for the energy transition?

The panelists will discuss current energy topics, including:

– what challenges the RES sector in Serbia is facing after two rounds of auctions for the allocation of market premiums,
– how far the green transition in Serbia and the region has progressed,
– what path RES projects must take from permits to construction,
– what the role of battery storage in connecting to the transmission and distribution system is,
– what price of electricity we can expect in the coming period.

We will learn how many wind farms were installed in Europe in the first quarter of this year, what the wind potential of our continent is, and we will also get an answer to the key question - is there money for the energy transition and under what conditions?

We will talk about the electricity market and hear how companies perceive ESG standards.

Given that last year’s academic panel discussion attracted a lot of attention from the audience, this year we are also looking for an answer to the question of whether education is the best source of energy.
