Szijjarto wrote on his Facebook profile that the countries of Central Europe had been brought into a difficult situation due to Ukraine, which, according to him, failed them in the sense of the security of energy supply, having closed the gas pipeline which had largely supplied Central Europe with natural gas from Russia.
– Instead of Ukraine, the Middle (Central) Europe is now supplied with the necessary energy sources through Serbia. More than 20 million cubic meters of gas a day arrive to Hungary through Serbia – said Szijjarto.
The cooperation in the field of energy, he says, will be expanded by the construction of an oil pipeline between Hungary and Serbia.
– By 2027, we will build 180-190 kilometers of an oil pipeline in the territory of Hungary, so the entire region will be secured with energy, so in the future, we count on petrol prices not having to grow. In order to maintain the results of the reduction of utility costs in Hungarian households, it is also important to invest in the doubling of the capacities of the transfer of electrical energy between Hungary and Serbia – said Szijjarto.
