NIS submits new request to US Department of the Treasury for issuing of special license

Naftna industrija Srbije (NIS) has filed a new request to the US Department of the Treasury for the issuing of a special license that postpones the full implementation of the sanctions and enables the continuation of the company’s operations after July 29 as well, that is, after the expiration of the deadline envisaged in the previous license, issued on June 26, the company announced.

So far, as reminded, the company has had special licenses issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury on four occasions, postponing the full implementation of the sanctions.

On March 14, NIS also submitted to the US Department of the Treasury a request for being removed from the list of Specially Designated Nationals (SDN), “which is a complex process.”

It is pointed out that NIS will continue notifying the public about all the relevant factors that might influence the company’s operations on time.
