Sanctions on NIS postponed until July 29

The sanctions on the Oil Industry of Serbia (Naftna industrija Srbije - NIS) have been postponed again. This time for 30 days, until July 29, the media report.

This is the fourth time that the sanctions on NIS have been postponed.

Last week, NIS sent a new request to the U.S. Department of the Treasury for the issuing of a special license that would postpone the full implementation of the U.S. sanctions, and the aim of the request is to enable the company to operate unobstructed after June 27 as well, that is, after the expiration of the deadline envisaged in the previous license, issued on April 25, 2025.
