New route within summer schedule – From Nis to Zurich starting this Monday

As part of the summer schedule, a new route to Zurich will be available to passengers at Nis Airport twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, and will be operated by SWISS.

Iulian Bold, SWISS’s Network Planning Manager, who recently visited Nis Airport, pointed out that SWISS was continuously exploring opportunities for further network development.

– We recognize the importance of the Serbian diaspora in Switzerland and their needs for travel beyond our existing route to Belgrade. With this in mind, our goal was to improve the connectivity for visiting friends and relatives between Switzerland and Serbia. In addition, we wanted to offer the residents of the Nis region better access to our extensive European and intercontinental network via Zurich. We expect great interest during the summer period and are excited to serve this market again – Bold told the Fly from Nis portal.

He also commented on the interest of passengers, who have already booked tickets for one of the two directions.

– Passenger interest is in line with our expectations. From the beginning of July onwards, we have seen increased demand in both directions, which is reflected in our decision to upgrade the aircraft operating on this route. This allows us to meet the growing interest and offer more seats during peak travel times – Bold added.

The airline does not plan to operate flights from Nis Airport during the winter period, and based on the performance of this summer season, it will make a decision whether this flight will be available in the summer months of next year.

SWISS will fly from Nis every Monday (at 9:05 a.m. landing in Nis and 9:50 a.m. departure for Zurich) and Thursday (at 6:50 p.m. landing in Nis and 7:45 p.m. departure for Zurich) from June 30 to August 21, 2025.
