BMW components from Cuprija

The local public was very interested in the recent announcement by Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic that the Chinese company GEB - Shandong Golden Empire Precision Machinery Technology planned to build a factory in Serbia for the needs of the renowned car manufacturer BMW.

Following the meeting with the company’s representatives, she pointed out that Serbia had been shortlisted for the realization of this big investment and that she hoped that there would be good news soon.

Since then, there have been speculations in Serbia where the factory might be located. However, this investment, all things considered, has already been announced, and the location is known too. To clarify, General Consul of the Republic of Serbia to Shanghai Ninoslav Eric announced at the end of May that the Chinese company GEB - Shandong Golden Empire Precision Machinery Technology would open a factory in the industrial zone in Cuprija.

According to the Facebook account of the Municipality of Cuprija, during his stay in Shanghai, General Consul Eric met with the company’s owner, Guanghui Zheng, who, on that occasion, made the final decision to invest in Cuprija. The signing of the agreement is expected in the coming days, following which the realization of this important investment is to begin, says the announcement.

– A big and important investment for the development of Cuprija and the entire Pomoravlje area – said Eric.

The planned factory will be part of the automotive industry, which is an important step in the further economic development of the region. The investment will contribute to the creation of new jobs and the upgrade of the technological infrastructure in the industrial zone of Cuprija, says the post.

GEB mostly produces ball-bearing cages and precision auto components, among others for BMW too.
