Construction of Vrba to Adrani section of Morava Corridor to begin - Corridors of Serbia issued certificate of application for works

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has issued a certificate confirming, pursuant to the decision on the construction permit of July 1 this year, the application for works to the investor Koridori Srbije d.o.o., Beograd, for the construction of the Vrba - Adrani section on the Pojate - Preljina corridor (Morava Corridor).

The section includes the route from km 67+680.41 to km 81+476.86, with a length of 13.79 km, with a connection to the State Road IB No. 24 via the graded intersection “Vrba” in Zaklopaca near Kraljevo.

Also, a work application certificate was issued to the City of Kraljevo for the regulation of the Balaban stream at km 68+664.58 and the Klican stream at km 70+977.08, in Zaklopaca.

The planned start date of the works specified by the investors in the application is December 8, 2025, and, as stated, the works can begin after the publication of this certificate.

Let us remind that, last week, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on his Instagram account that a 14.3-kilometer section of the Morava Corridor from Vrnjacka Banja to Vrba would be opened a few days later.

The total length of the Morava Corridor, the highway that will connect Kraljevo, Krusevac, Vrnjacka Banja and Trstenik, is about 110 km.

The corridor consists of three sections - Pojate-Krusevac (27.83 km), Krusevac-Adrani (53.88 km) and Adrani-Mrcajevci-Preljina (30.66 km).

The construction of the corridor began in late 2019 and is being carried out by the Turkish-American consortium Bechtel Enka. The road is designed for speeds of up to 130 kilometers per hour and, as announced, will be the first digital and widest highway in Serbia.

As we wrote last month, the state has borrowed an additional EUR 260 million for the construction of this corridor, and this is a loan agreement with the guarantee of the British agency UKEF.
