Serbia plans to expand existing gas capacities, as well as build a new Tilva gas storage facility, with associated gas pipelines. The construction of the Mokrin-Belgrade gas pipeline is also planned, announced Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic.

She discussed with a World Bank delegation the next steps in preparing a new multi-year gas infrastructure development program in Serbia.

– Our focus is now on the first phase - the construction of the first section of the Nis-Velika Plana gas pipeline, as well as the preparation of technical documentation for the projects that follow – Djedovic Handanovic stated on Instagram.

She pointed out that the goal was a stronger, more reliable and more flexible gas infrastructure, which would further strengthen Serbia’s energy security.
