State will accept any type of privatization for Tigar – City of Pirot ordered to propose solution

The state will accept any type of privatization for the part of the Tigar factory in Pirot, which is state-owned, said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, speaking about finding a strategic partner for this company.

As he said, the state is “bleeding out” because of this factory and will therefore accept any type of privatization.

– We gave 220 million dinars for the summer months, but people in Serbia do not know that. You are all fooling us, asking for impossible things and avoiding private companies that could take it, because you would choose which private companies would take it, and if possible, the state should pay salaries that were not earned on the market – Vucic told the Mayor of Pirot, Vladan Vasic, during a tour of the village of Temska.

He called on Vasic to propose a solution to the city, adding that the state would accept “any type of privatization and any type of solution.”

– Just let Tigar work and let us try to save some, or most, of the employees. Because this idea of the state bleeding out every three months doesn’t make much sense – said Vucic.

Let us remind, as eKapija recently wrote, privatization is currently not possible for a large number of former state systems. Among them are Simpo from Vranje with more than 1,180 employees, Trayal Corporation from Krusevac with almost 1,000 workers, Yumco from Vranje, Metanolsko-sircetni kompleks from Kikinda, and Tigar from Pirot.

Most of these companies, as eKapija wrote at the end of May, are currently engaged in activities related to pre-prepared reorganization plans, while some companies have unresolved property disputes or requests for restitution.
