Kuzmin-Sremska Raca highway to open to traffic in two months, Slepcevic-Badovinci section soon

In two months, the Kuzmin-Sremska Raca highway section will be opened, and the first five kilometers from the border towards Bijeljina will also be opened to traffic, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said, as reported by SRNA.

He reminded that an additional EUR 10 million had been transferred not long before to Republika Srpska for the five kilometers to the border.

He announced that the Slepcevic-Badovinci section would also be completed not long after, adding that about 80% of the work had been done thus far.

The start of the Kuzmin-Sremska Raca highway is planned to be near the existing grade-separated Kuzmin intersection on the Belgrade-Zagreb highway and will lead all the way to the existing border crossing at Sremska Raca. This section, with a total length of about 18 km, with a bridge over the Sava River, is part of the E-761 Belgrade-Sarajevo highway construction project. According to announcements from December last year, the Kuzmin-Raca highway was supposed to be opened to traffic by the middle of this year. Before that, during the summer of last year, the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure announced that the Sremska Raca–Kuzmin section of the highway would be physically completed by the end of 2025. By the way, since officials officially marked the start of work on the future Kuzmin-Sremska Raca highway, announcements about the end of work on this small section through the plain have been postponed several times.
