The Slepcevic-Badovinci expressway, whose construction began at the end of 2023, should be completed by June next year. The traffic route, within which the construction of five bridges is planned, is designed as a road with two lanes in each direction, on which vehicles will be able to travel at up to 100 kilometers per hour. The Slepcevic-Badovinci expressway, as a leg of the Sabac-Loznica expressway, is another connection to Republika Srpska.

According to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who took a tour of the works, once the Kuzmin-Sremska Raca road is completed in March or April, with these 15.3 kilometers, it will amount to nearly 35 kilometers of new roads in this part of Serbia.

– That way, the entire Macva and Podrinje will be cris-crossed with expressways and highways – he said.

The director of the PE Roads of Serbia, Aleksandar Antic, said that 70% of the road had been paved with asphalt up till then, that is, 11 kilometers of the first and second asphalt layers in full profile, and that the works on the construction of all five bridges had been completed as well.

He expects all the main works on the traffic route to be completed by the end of the year, but at the plea of the local populace, additional overpasses will be built, which are supposed to enable the crossing of farming machinery without coming into contact with the main road, which is why the full completion is expected by the end of next year.

The Slepcevic-Badovinci expressway will connect the Sabac-Loznica expressway with the Badovinci expressway toward Republika Srpska, that is, the Pavlovica most border crossing with Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will secure another connection with Republika Srpska, in addition to the existing connection through the Sabac-Loznica expressway with the border crossings Trbusnica with Republika Srpska and Sepak with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
