Cacak-Based Startup Wins International Award - Multifunctional Furniture Turns from Cradle into a "Real" Bed

With an unusual multifunctional cradle invention, a team of young innovators from Cacak has won a prestigious international award in the field of industrial and product design.

From Idea to EU Subsidies

Cacak-based startup "759 Studio" has designed children's furniture that, thanks to its modular design, adapts to different needs and serves multiple purposes.

From the initial idea to the careful development of every detail, the young team managed to turn its concept into a tangible product - a piece of furniture that can be used as a cradle, a crib and later, up to the age of 10, as a bed or armchair.

- We received a European Union grant here at the Science Technology Park Cacak, which gave us access to prototyping space at subsidized rates. Then came events where the Science Technology Park took us as representatives, so everything followed its course, and after three and a half years we arrived at this award and the product's market launch - said Djordje Djurica, co-owner of startup "759 Studio".

The development of the multifunctional cradle that grows with the child began shortly before the birth of Tatjana and Djordje Djurica's first daughter.

Over the course of several years, their startup transformed the initial idea into a finished product that adapts to different stages of a child's development and can be used in multiple ways.

- It had to be transformable, have a rocking mechanism, and ensure that no part needed to be stored or discarded after transformation, because in the apartment where we lived we had no space to store unused parts. So we set ourselves this task, primarily based on our own needs - Djurica said.

Success Confirmed in Finland

The success of the Cacak startup team was also recognized in Finland, where they were ranked among the top 100 in Europe and North America.

A new international award has further confirmed the uniqueness of their solution.

- We were convinced that we had developed something good enough to compete and, ultimately, hope that we could win. And we won - said Aleksandar Majstorovic, co-owner of startup "759 Studio".

For the three-member team of innovators from Cacak, the prestigious award for design excellence represents a major achievement.

Majstorovic said that around 10,000 products compete in various categories each year. He added that the recognition received by the Cacak startup was unexpected.

Their concept involves waste-free production, with part of the profits allocated to reforestation and social projects.

The prototype and initial production runs are made in Cacak, and for now, the products are sold only in Serbia.
