Bajatovic: Gas supply contract with Russia extended by three months

The gas supply contract with Russia has been extended for the next three months and is expected to be extended until the New Year soon, said Srbijagas Director Dusan Bajatovic, as reported by RTS.

As Bajatovic said in the Serbian Parliament, there is no investment without gas. He said that if projects such as the interconnection with Romania and North Macedonia are not completed, and if capacities towards Hungary are not increased and planned storage facilities are not completed, gas will increase in price by at least 40%.

– If we import it from the German coast and listen to some of the analysts, it will increase in price by 80%. I think, if you look at the European agenda, all these transmission stations and all these gas pipelines are on the European agenda and are a condition, among other things, for the opening of Cluster 3. Among other things, these transmission stations are a condition for the opening of the market. Europe is demanding all this – stated the Srbijagas Director.

Bajatovic also said that Srbijagas financed investment loans on its own, but that a state guarantee was necessary that the projects would be completed.
