Vucic: We are on the verge of finding a strategic partner for Yumco and Simpo

The companies Yumco and Simpo from Vranje will get a strategic partner, and it is likely that it will come from China.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who is visiting this country, indicated that Serbia was “on the right track” when it came to finding a strategic partner for those two companies from southeastern Serbia.

– I asked them to help us resolve the issues of Vranje and southern Serbia in particular, to find strategic partners for Yumco and Simpo, and I believe that this will solve the issue of employment in the Pcinja District in the long term, where we have had and continue to have countless problems. I think we are on the right track. I cannot say the name of the company, but I think we have completed it – Vucic stated, as reported by B92.

As he said, he also discussed innovation cooperation and cooperation related to AI and R&D centers.

– We also talked about nuclear energy there, and they offered us incredible conditions – he said.

Vucic added that talks had been held with three Chinese retail chains, and that Serbian goods would be sold there, and that there had been talks about Serbian products being available in two Chinese airlines.
